Albany

Albany Only ten minutes north of the University of California campus in Berkeley, Albany is a residential community that benefits from the university culture. Albany is well known for spectacular views of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge from the new Eastshore State Park adjacent to Golden Gate Fields racetrack.

Albany is proud of its tree-lined streets with bungalow style houses and upscale restaurants. It is a family oriented community, home to university and business professionals and to a UC family student housing development. Shoppers and strollers linger in the cafes, restaurants, and small mom and pop shops on Solano Avenue, the site of the annual “Solano Stroll” festival, which annually draws 100,000 participants. Albany residents enjoy award winning public schools, low crime and a highly prized “small town ambiance.”

The City has adopted a progressive multi-use vision for the development of San Pablo Avenue (State Highway 123). The redevelopment area adjacent to the I-80/I-580 corridor includes larger scale retail, including a new two-story Target. Businesses and developers that come to Albany will find a small knowledgeable staff that can quickly answer questions and process permits, plans and projects.
