CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE & SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE CENTERS
The East Bay is fortunate to have a vast network of chambers of commerce and small business assistance centers that offer no-cost one-on-one-consulting and low-cost training services and programs to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Expert advisors are on hand that can assist with all stages of your business including startup business plans, access to financing, growth, resiliency plans, e-commerce, marketing, and more. We encourage you to reach out and make an appointment as soon as possible.

CA EDD Payroll Tax Seminars – The CA EDD offers State payroll tax seminars to help employers comply with State payroll tax laws. Classroom style, in-person seminars are offered throughout California. The online courses allow you to learn at your own pace.
NorCal Small Business Development Center – No-cost webinars and trainings to help business owners on a variety of topics, from bookkeeping to e-commerce.
Small Business Majority – Updates on state and federal small business resources and policy briefings
LEGAL RESOURCES
UC Berkeley Law Community Law Clinic provides free legal assistance to survive the COVID-19 pandemic to small businesses that can’t afford an attorney. Email newbusinesslaw@berkeley.edu for support.
East Bay Community Law Center provides legal services to East Bay residents on a range of topics.
Centro de la Raza provides legal services to low-income, immigrant, Black, and Latinx communities through bilingual legal representation, education, and advocacy.
Legal Aid at Work provides low-income and unemployed people with confidential information about their legal rights related to work in California. They provide services in Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and can accommodate other languages.
Alameda County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) can match you with a pre-screened Alameda County lawyer who is qualified to help you with your legal needs. LRS lawyers have been carefully screened to ensure that they have ample experience in the area of law in which you need assistance.
Contra Costa County Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral & Information Service (LRIS) can match residents of all parts of Contra Costa County to lawyers to help resolve their legal issues.
