West Oakland Walking Tour + Ballers Game

Prescott Market Hall 1620 18th St,, Oakland, United States

Join East Bay EDA in a unique experience as we take a walking tour through one of our region’s historic neighborhoods – West Oakland. Expert tour guides will take our group on a 30-minute walk through history, and take us back to 1820 when Luis Maria Peralta first received the land, to 1869 when it became the terminus of the Central Pacific line of the First Transcontinental Railroad, into the 1900’s when it became known as the “Harlem of the West,” to the late 1960’s when the Main Post Office, West Oakland BART station and Acorn Plaza housing were built, and finally concluding with the most recent addition of the Oakland Ballers Raimondi Park and Prescott Market.   The walking tour will kick off at Prescott Market, a newly opened food hall and community hub. After the tour, attendees will have the option to join us for a game night with the Oakland Ballers (a maritime-themed Night) against the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers.   Reserve your spot today!
