    Join Alameda County Community Connect for a Homeless Resource and Job Fair on July 18, 2024, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Open to all, no registration required. Discover resources, job opportunities, and community support. The goal is to create a pathway to self-sufficiency and change the perception of our unhoused.  Most want to work, but the challenges they face are so overwhelming, most simply give up.  This is where we can do more to support their efforts and positively impact the lives of so many. If you an employer or organization who would like to support this event, organizers are soliciting gift card donations for food & gas. One of California's oldest wine regions, the Livermore Valley played a pivotal role in shaping California's wine industry. Spanish missionaries planted the first wine grapes in the Livermore Valley in the 1760s. In the 1840s, California pioneers looking for outstanding vineyard sites began planting grapes in the region. Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines in the 1840s. Pioneer winemakers C. H. Wente, James Concannon, and Charles Wetmore recognized the area's wine growing potential and founded their wineries in the early 1880s. Today, it is a thriving wine region in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    West Oakland Walking Tour + Ballers Game

    Join East Bay EDA for a unique experience as we take a walking tour through one of our region’s historic neighborhoods – West Oakland. The tour, led by Dave Peters - Black Liberation Walking Tour, West Oakland Cultural Action Network, will take our group on an hour-long walk through history, starting at the 16th Street Station (Oakland Central), a former Southern Pacific Railroad station that was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2025. The walk will cover several other historical sites before concluding with the most recent additions to the Prescott neighborhood, the Oakland Ballers ballpark at Raimondi Park, and Prescott Market, a newly opened food hall and community hub. After the tour, we will hear brief remarks from Joe Ernst, Principal at srmErnst Development Partners, Tim Koide, Head of Operations at the Oakland Ballers, and East Bay EDA. Following this program, attendees will have the option to join us for a game night with the Oakland Ballers (a maritime-themed Night) against the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers. Reserve your spot today!
