COMMITTEES
As a cross-sector, member-driven organization, East Bay EDA prioritizes core policy areas to promote the region’s economic vibrancy and success. These initiatives are directed by committees from our diverse membership.
OUR COMMITTEES
Our initiatives are directed by the committees of Economic Development Directors’ Council, Land Use & Infrastructure, and Resilient East Bay with oversight from our Leadership and Governance. Each committee is lead by a Chair and Officer Liaison.
Economic Development Directors’ Council
The EDD Council leads strategies that link, align, and leverage best practices for regional marketing, policy reforms, economic analysis, and professional development resources to improve the region’s business climate and expand economic opportunities throughout the East Bay. EDD Council membership includes East Bay EDA member cities, counties and unincorporated areas, as well as lead staff of our local Workforce Development Boards and Small Business Development Centers.
Land Use & Infrastructure
The Land Use & Infrastructure Committee advances and influences the development, approval and execution of a coherent set of regional land use and transportation plans, state and federal legislation, and public and/or private projects that ensure a livable, sustainable and prosperous future for the East Bay. The committee ensures that land use and infrastructure priorities support a competitive business climate, maintain efficient transportation and goods movement systems, and contribute to a high quality of life for workers and residents.
Resilient East Bay
The Resilient East Bay Committee helps East Bay manufacturing, transportation, distribution & logistics, and biosciences/life sciences businesses to grow and thrive in our region. It does this through the assistance of small to mid-sized businesses in accessing and connecting to networks and resources that support local market development and supply chain resilience. The committee also provides strategic direction for East Bay EDA’s business support activities, promoting data, research, and other services and tools that create shared value.
Leadership & Governance
East Bay EDA is governed by two committees. Our Board of Directors guides and informs organizational activities and events for the East Bay Economic Alliance Foundation (East Bay EDA’s nonprofit arm) and is comprised of senior-level leaders from East Bay EDA’s robust cross-sector membership of business, economic development, education, elected officials, labor, local government representatives, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, research institutions, and others. Our Executive Committee is comprised of the Chair, Vice Chair, and other leadership positions and roles on the Board of Directors.
