Earlier this month, the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitor’s Bureau hosted the 20th Annual East Bay Women’s Conference (EBWC), bringing together more than 700 attendees at the Lesher Center for the Arts. The event was a powerful testament to the resilience, leadership, and innovation women bring to East Bay communities. From inspiring keynote speakers to groundbreaking performances, the event highlighted the essential role of women across various industries and professions.

The conference featured a dynamic lineup of speakers, including an award-winning filmmaker, a cybersecurity expert, and a husband and wife team with illustrious Broadway careers. One of the main highlights of this year’s event was the inaugural Women Making a Difference Awards, which recognized outstanding women who have made significant contributions in their fields: This year’s honorees included:

East Bay EDA was grateful to participate in this event uplifting these women leaders and the many things that they do to help create economic opportunity across our region. Several of East Bay EDA’s member organizations sponsored this event and helped create spaces where women are celebrated, supported, and empowered to lead, including the City of Walnut Creek, Kaiser Permanente, Pacific Gas & Electric, John Muir Health, and Sutter Health.

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, East Bay EDA remains committed to championing women’s voices and leadership. Whether through mentorship, advocacy, or fostering opportunities, we all have a role in creating a future where women’s contributions are recognized and valued.
