The role of small business-focused CDFIs became increasingly visible during the COVID-19 pandemic and they continue to play a key role in supporting local economic development ecosystems, particularly for underserved small business owners. Small businesses are a critical engine to the economy by creating jobs, providing goods and services, and building community. 2024 California Economic Summit

The 2024 California Economic Summit will take place in Sacramento, CA on October 8-10. Along with the California Stewardship Network, we are excited to convene with partners from industry, community, and the private, public, and nonprofit sectors—all of whom are committed to building an inclusive and sustainable economy where all Californians can prosper. Livermore Valley Wine Tour

Join East Bay EDA for an exclusive, invite-only wine tasting experience in the Livermore Valley to kick off Livermore Valley Wine Month. Guests will ride in style in a comfortable limo bus for a cruise across beautiful Livermore Wine County, visiting two popular wineries for a custom wine tasting and food pairing experience. Please note that this event is by invitation only and has limited space. One of California's oldest wine regions, the Livermore Valley played a pivotal role in shaping California's wine industry. Spanish missionaries planted the first wine grapes in the Livermore Valley in the 1760s. In the 1840s, California pioneers looking for outstanding vineyard sites began planting grapes in the region. Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines in the 1840s. Pioneer winemakers C. H. Wente, James Concannon, and Charles Wetmore recognized the area's wine growing potential and founded their wineries in the early 1880s. Today, it is a thriving wine region in the San Francisco Bay Area.

West Oakland Walking Tour + Ballers Game

Join East Bay EDA for a unique experience as we take a walking tour through one of our region’s historic neighborhoods – West Oakland. The tour, led by Dave Peters - Black Liberation Walking Tour, West Oakland Cultural Action Network, will take our group on an hour-long walk through history, starting at the 16th Street Station (Oakland Central), a former Southern Pacific Railroad station that was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2025. The walk will cover several other historical sites before concluding with the most recent additions to the Prescott neighborhood, the Oakland Ballers ballpark at Raimondi Park, and Prescott Market, a newly opened food hall and community hub. After the tour, we will hear brief remarks from Joe Ernst, Principal at srmErnst Development Partners, Tim Koide, Head of Operations at the Oakland Ballers, and East Bay EDA.
